New Line of Books
Usborne is the biggest and most successful independent children’s book publisher in the UK. We have around 2,000 titles in print, and publish almost every type of children's book for every age group, from baby books to young adult novels.
In 2015 Usborne won the UK Private Business of the Year Award and, in February 2014, was named Independent Publisher of the Year and Independent Children’s Publisher of the Year in the Independent Publishers Guild awards.
Founded by Peter Usborne in 1973, Usborne books are conceived and created by editor/writers and designers in our offices in London, England, and illustrated by artists worldwide. We believe the way we work makes our books different from other children's books, and this is what makes them so well loved.
Peter Usborne pioneered a completely new generation of entertaining, colourful and friendly non-fiction books. He is a patron for READ International, a charity that delivers good quality books to schools in Tanzania, and has also set up the Usborne Foundation with his children, Nicola and Martin, to support initiatives to develop early literacy.
Peter is still very much involved in the business and – when he’s not travelling the world – is in the office every day.
We now stock many books from this line, from lift-a flap board books to chapter books, fiction and nonfiction.
